As I become more experienced with web design, I have to believe that Javascript buttons for rollovers is not only passe'  but frequently slow to load. I can not count the times I have watched a page load with little gray buttons while I wait for the Javascript and images to load. It really makes your web site drag and look amateurish.

I longed for the ability to put slick DHTML navigation bar on my sites, but frankly, I have found many such tools confusing to use. If I can't use it out of the box within the first few minutes, I tend not to use it at all. Sound familiar?

For those of you who are like me, I think will find Xara's Menu Maker a breath of fresh air. Like the rest of their wonderful graphic design products, Menu Maker is easy to use, quick to load, and creates simply brilliant graphics. 

You start by browsing through the 35 page gallery of ready made navigation bar and button treatments. Then you add your own text to the buttons, add your page links, and select your colors. So after a few minutes this is what I created:
